Ekechi Set to Resume at Allainz Media
One of the nation’s leading outdoor advertising practitioners and chairman of Allianz Media Limited, Mr. Toe Ekechi, is set to resume as chairman of Allianz Media after over a year out on national service as special adviser to the suspended Minister of Interior, Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho.
Sources close to the seasoned marketing expert said he would be back in Lagos any moment from now to pick up from where he stopped last year.
The source further stated that stakeholders in the company believe that the return of Ekechi, who also chairs Marketing and Media Limited, will further galvanise it to face challenges of a difficult business environment.
“You know TOE,” the source told THISDAY during the week. “He is a workaholic who will not take a day off. I expect him to get into the groove straight away. You might expect him to take a holiday but not the TOE I know. The industry is set to start benefitting from his wealth of experience once again.”
When contacted, Ekechi said he would not be making any comment for now but naturally, he will be back at his old desk to give direction to the company that has come to mean so much to him. He commended the management and staff of the company for their dedication when he went to answer a call to serve his fatherland.
“I am impressed by their level of dedication. They have kept the flag flying and they have succeeded in keeping the company where we wanted it to be. They deserve my praise,” the Imo State born-advertising chief submitted.
When asked to comment on circumstances surrounding his boss’s sack, Ekechi said he would rather not go there as he would not like to be quoted as saying anything he was not authorised to say, or be quoted out of context.
He, however, admitted that the experience he garnered could not be bought with a billion dollars as the experience afforded him the opportunity of learning one or two things in public administration and the challenges therein.
Meanwhile, Marketing and Media Limited, the sister company of Allianz Media Limited, has announced its readiness to unveil new sites that will further give its clients options in terms of choice of locations in the out-of-home media to reach their patrons.
The company said this would be in fulfilment of the promise it made last year to always be ahead in terms of innovation and using the latest technology to sell themselves as leaders in the industry.
Speaking with THISDAY during the week, the Chief Operating Officer of the company, Isah Aliyu, said the sites when fully ready would be first of its kind in this part of the world.
