nutritional, herbal and other drugs in developing countries, Mega Lifesciences, has introduced Promune, which is a drug for kidney patients in Nigeria.

A statement by the firm on Wednesday, explained that the drug was an immunosuppressant which contains Cyclosporin, and was used in managing transplantation of organs such as kidney and liver.

“It is seen an intervention drug for thousands of people suffering from kidney diseases, as it allows the patient to go for kidney transplantation, wherein they can receive a kidney from a donor and be able to manage the organ in post-transplant without complication,” it added.

It, however, said most of the patients in Nigeria who currently buy the drug from other countries such as India and Indonesia at exorbitant prices, would now be able to access the drug on recommendation without having to source from abroad in 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg strengths.
