By on April 15, 2011

Thirty-six finalists have emerged from the grand audition of the 2011 edition of the Star Quest musical talent hunt programme and will immediately proceed to Fameland.

The 36 finalists were selected from a list of 55 who made it to the grand audition.

The Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, organisers and sponsors of the programme, Mr. Jacco Van Der Linden, was quoted in a statement as saying that the programme was initiated to discover and nurture talented young Nigerians into musical superstars.

He said, “Star Quest is a unique talent hunt show because it is the only one in Nigeria that encourages aspiring musicians to form musical bands. Through this, we are providing a platform for talented individuals, especially the young ones, to develop their skills.

“As you have seen here today, these contestants are potential world music stars with the kind of performances they have put up.”

The Senior Brand Manager, Star, NB Plc, Mr. Sampson Oloche, said the quality of contestants at the various auditioning centres had reinforced the belief of the Star Lager brand that the decision to start the talent hunt show in 2002 was not a misplaced one.

According to the statement, Star Quest remains Nigeria’s only musical talent hunt show dedicated to the emergence of musical bands in the country.
