Bismark, four others may join new NSE Council

IN line with restructuring of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has compiled a list of competent professionals in their various fields of discipline to join the former Interim Administrator of the NSE (now Deputy to interim president) Emmanuel Ikhazoboh and Interim President Mallam Ballama Manu on the council.

Further to the directives from SEC to the Council of NSE to admit some professionals, as public interest members, to strengthen the Council and support its new management team; unconfirmed sources said that a list comprising distinguished personnel has been put together.

The possible council members, according to the source, include Managing Director of Financial Derivatives Limited, Mr Bismark Rewane; Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Closed Pension Fund Administrator Limited, Mrs Yemisi Ayeni; Managing/Chief executive Officer, Aso Savings & Loans, Hassan Usman, Bimbo Ogunbanjo and a Chartered Arbitrator and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Dorothy Udeme-Ufot.

However, other members of the council besides the interim president and deputy Oba Otudeko (past president), Chief Reginald Abbey-Hart (first Vice President) and Alhaji Maccido may remain.
