OMSA promo: Oceanic Bank rewards 219 micro business customers

Oceanic Bank, at the weekend, doled out several gifts to 219 micro-business customers that emerged winners at the grand finale draws on its Oceanic Micro Savings Accounts (OMSA) otherwise known as ‘Be Ya Own Oga’ savings promo.

The various gift items include: tricycles, motor bikes, generators, grinding machines, sewing machines, vulcanizing machines, pressing irons, barbing clippers and call center sets with N1, 000 credits.

In his welcome address, Head, Development Finance, Oceanic Bank, Mr. Felix Oyakhamoh, said it was an initiative that aligned with the bank’s commitment to growing businesses at the micro level of the Nigerian economy, adding that it was the bank’s platform to contribute its quota towards alleviating poverty.

According to him, the promo, which began in December last year, was an opportunity to reward microfinance customers and assist in improving their lives and businesses, adding that the bank was committed to the growth and development of the economy through its support for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs).

“The promo was very successful and further confirms the bank’s belief that there is enormous economic potential in the microbusiness level of the economy, especially when operators cultivate the habit of saving. All our SMEs need is adequate support and guidance which Oceanic Bank has been providing since we launched our development finance department in 2007.”

Also speaking, Head, Segments and Products, Development Finance Department, Funsho Oyelohunnu, said the promotion was to help the low economically active people like pepper sellers, barbers, petty traders, vulcanisers and barbers, among others.

She pointed out that testimonies from past winners had indicated that the bank was achieving its objectives, adding that over 1000 customers across the country had emerged winners in the draws.

“Every Nigerian has a right to be empowered that is what Oceanic Bank microfinance is doing in this direction. We have been able to transform businesses and make many of the winners their own Oga,” she said.

The winners of the star prize of tricycles otherwise known as ‘keke Marwa’ include Emokpea Tina of Oba Market road branch, Benin-City; Ekundayo Bolanle Aina from Lagos West and AbdulGafar Sulaimon of Ibrahim Taiwo Way branch, Kano.
