Market Cap gains N15billion on Tuesday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended Tuesday on a positive note as the market capitalisation of the listed entities gained N15 billion or 0.13 percent to closed at N11.754 trillion higher than Monday’s N11.739 trillion figure.

The All Share Index, ASI, equally gained 0.13 percent or 47.30 points to close for the day at 36,904.52 basis points as against Monday’s closing figure of 36,857.22 basis points.

Investors exchanged 283.71 million shares valued at N2.97 billion in 4,467 deals as against the 309.88 million shares valued at N4.14 billion that was traded yesterday in 4,277 deals.

The top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday was led by Transcorp with 58.36 million shares valued at N104.21 million while Diamond bank was second with 40.49 million shares worth N255.08 million.

Unity Bank was third with 20.83 million volume of shares valued at N11.84 million. GTB followed with 15.68 million shares valued at N396.09 million while FBNH was last on the chart with 14.54 million shares valued at N242.63 million.

The top five gainers chart was led by Mobil which gained N4.50k in its share price to close at N114.55k per share.

It was followed by Flour mill with a gain of N2.55k in its share price to close at N82.55k per share while UACN was third gaining N2.29k in its share price to close at N63.49k per share.

Forte Oil was fourth with its share price appreciating by N2.17k to close at N45.57k per share.

CAP was last on the chart by adding N1.85k to its share price to close at N38.85k per share.

However, the top five losers chart was led by Guinness with a share price loss of N2.64k to close at N247.00 per share.

Nestle Plc was second losing N2.00 in its share price to close at N1,000.00 per share while Cadbury was third with a loss of N0.64k in its share price to close at N49.31k per share.

Dangote Sugar was fourth losing N0.50k in its share price to close at N11.20k while Ashaka Cement was last on the chart with a loss of N0.45k in its share price to close at N20.10k per share.
