Investors exchange 196.58 million shares on Monday

Nigerian-stock-exchange-market1Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Monday with investors exchanging 196.58 million shares valued at N2.09 billion in 4,027 deals.

This was in contrast with the 186.11 million shares valued at N2.18 billion that exchanged hands in 3,710 deals at the close of trading last Friday.

The market capitalisation of the listed entities at the close of transactions on Monday ended at N11.418 trillion while the All Share Index, ALSI, closed at 35,861.87 basis points.

Nestle topped the gainers chart with a price change of N1.74k to close at N940.00 per share.

Guinness was second with a price gain of N1.50k to close at N250.00 per share while Jos Breweries was third on the chart with a price gain of N0.75k to close at N8.27k per share.

UAC-Prop also added N0.73k to its share price to close at N15.79k per share while UACN which added N0.49k to its share price to close at N55.00 per share was the last on the top five gainers chart at the close of business.

However, Nigerian Breweries was in front at the losers end as it lost N3.00 in its share price to close at N159.00 per share.

Okomuoil was second with a share price loss of N1.89k to close at N45.53k per share while Unilever in third position also shed N1.89k in its share price to close at N58.11k per share.

Guaranty Trust Bank was fourth on the chart with a loss of N0.89k in its share price to close at N24.01k per share while Dangote Cement was fifth with a share price loss of N0.85k to close at N189.15k per share.

The top five trades by volume chart on Monday was led by Diamond Bank with 59.604 million shares worth N370.663 million while Transcorp was second with 16.088 million volume of shares valued at N22.196 million.

Access bank was third with 14.869 million shares valued at N155.347 million.

Wema bank with 12.518 million shares valued at N12.097 million and Unity bank with 11.353 million volume of shares worth N5.677 million are the last two on the chart.
