Arik Air celebrates Emir of Kano’s 50 years on throne, slashes air fares

By on June 15, 2013

One of Nigeria’s largest airlines, Arik Air, has introduced a special promo fare to celebrate the Golden Jubilee (50 years) of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ado Bayero, on the throne as the Emir of Kano.

The promo fare is for Lagos- Kano-Lagos and Abuja-Kano-Abuja routes.

The special fare, which is valid for travel between Friday, June 14 and Sunday, June 16, 2013, would enable guests travelling on the Lagos-Kano-Lagos route to buy a return ticket at lower rate.

Announcing the special fare in Lagos on Tuesday, Arik Air’s Managing Director/Executive Vice President, Mr Chris Ndulue, said it was the airline’s special way of appreciating the contributions of the Emir of Kano to the political and socio-economic development of Nigeria.

Ndulue said, “We in Arik Air see Kano as very strategic to our operations and this explains why the ancient city was our first destination in Northern Nigeria when we started commercial flights in 2006. His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ado Bayero, is a father figure in Nigeria and his reign has brought monumental developments to the ancient city of Kano and Nigeria in general. We identify with the Emir and the people of Kano on this special occasion of the golden jubilee anniversary.”
