NIPCO committed to development of LPG market

Knowing the relevance of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and how it can boost the economy, key players in the Industry converged in Abuja recently to brainstorm and fashion out ways to improve on the operations of the sector and make it more marketable.

Experts and Stakeholders gathered to understudy, evolve and also strategize new ways of boosting LPG consumption in the Country. They explored various ways the sector can become more viable and dynamic.

The Conference in Abuja which was co-sponsored by NIPCO, an integrated Oil and Gas Company operating in the downstream of the Petroleum sector, is poised at contributing to the development of a framework that will guide the operations in the Industry.

Managing Director of the Company, Mr Ventakaraman Ventakapathy said it was committed to the growth of the Industry.

He said the Company has been actively involved in promoting Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for domestic cooking in the Country and also as a source of vehicular fuel. Companies like Oando plc have been promoting massively LPG gas cylinders for cooking.

Speaking on the plan to improve on accessibility of Nigerians to the LPGs like the 3 and 6kg cylinder with Single burner stove, Mr Ventakapathy said “LPG skids are being deployed to major cities across the Nation, using our branded outlets”.
