Dangote Cement’s Ibese Plant reaches Optimum Production Levels in Record time
The Ibese plant launched by Dangote Cement in February this year has reached optimum levels of installed capacity production.
The plant which consists of two production lines capable of producing 3 million tons each per annum has a daily optimum capacity of 16,000 Metric Tons. It commenced in February with 12,000 metrictons, and in less than two months has reached its optimum capacity.
Chief Executive, Dangote Cement, Mr. Daijeet Ghai, has stated that Dangote Cement alone will be able to provide the entire 22 million metric-tonnes demand of the country.
According to him, “Ordinarily, it is expected that a new plant cannot begin to produce at optimal capacity in two months. Production activity, especially for a new plant, takes time before it begins to produce optimally”.
The Ibese plant is the largest in sub-Saharan Africa and provides 7,000 Nigerians with employment.
