Transcorp Board Appoints New CEO, Non-Executive Director

The board of Transcorp, the publicly traded conglomerate, has appointed Obinna Ufudo as the new CEO of the company.

Obinna was the COO at HEIRS Holding, an African Investment company founded by Tony Elumelu, former CEO of UBA Plc and current Chairman of Transcorp.

Tony Elumelu said of the appointments, “Transcorp places great emphasis on attracting top talent to lead the company to its next stage of growth and development, our board is convinced that Obinna is the right person to help lead the Group forward.”

Also appointed to a directorship in the company is Chibundu Edozie. Edozie is also the deputy managing director of BGL Plc.

    Why on earth are people with previous connection with Elumelu appointed to juicy position in Transcorp. Far from nepotism but nothing short of Yukos saga in Russia. Certainly Elumelu must suffer same fate unless Nigerian authorities look he other way.
