All Share Index Records Marginal Gains
The All Share Index inched up marginally by 0.11% erasing yesterdays losses and closing the Index YTD numbers at 20,278.16.
Transcorp announced the appointment of a new CEO, Mr. Obinna Ufudo, formerly of HEIRS holding and a new non-executive director, Mr. Chibundu Edozie, and the company’s stock responded positively bagging a 3% gain. UACN a fellow member of the conglomerates sector was up 3.6%, whilst Unilever and PZ lost 1.9% and 3.2% respectively.
Dangote Cement, the mammoth of the NSE remained quiet today, recording no price increase, whilst Ashaka Cement recorded a 1.5% uptick.
The hyperactive banking sector saw the stock of Zenith and First Bank recording 0.57% and 0.21% respectively. Diamond bank saw a repeat performance of its yesterday’s largesse and was up a whopping 4.4%.
200 million shares valued at N 1.79 Billion exchanged hands between investors today.
