Diageo to invest N55 billion in Guinness Nigeria

Diageo plc (LON:DGE), the brewing giant, announced that it has partnered with Guinness Nigeria to invest N55 billion in Nigeria to expand its brewing capacity.

The new investment will be used to upgrade the existing facilities and to increase the capacity of Ogba and Benin breweries.

The company said that this new expansion plan will create about 200 job opportunities in the area.

Nick Blazquez, president of Diageo plc (LON:DGE) Africa, said, “Diageo plc (LON:DGE) is proud of its history and the heritage that Guinness Nigeria has with over 60 years brewing experience in the country. This investment underscores Diageo plc (LON:DGE)’s confidence in Nigeria and its people and is an affirmation of our belief in its future as a growth economy and prosperous nation”.
