Labour Minister summons JUSUN over strike

In its effort to stop the nationwide strike, Minister of Labour and productivity, Emeka Wogu has summoned Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) over the ongoing strike action by the union for a meeting today March 12th 2013.

Daily Times gathered that the Minister called the workers for a meeting in his office at 2pm to dialogue over the strike action.
Speaking with our reporter, chairman of the strike committee, comrade Samuel A. Adesanya said the workers are ready for dialogue and therefore will attend the meeting with the minister.

Comrade Adesanya added that Government has been taken the union for granted, saying unless the circular is issued, the strike continues.

He described as unfortunate Government’s insensitive to the lights of workers, adding that, “we have been demanding for this document since 2009 and till now noting is done about it”.

Comrade Samuel Adesanya who is also the deputy president of JUSUN said the union is a peaceful group unless it is push to the wall.
